Friday Frills

Life has taught us that...
You can't be all things to all people.
You can't do all things at once.
You can't do all things equally well.
And you can't do all things better than everyone else.

So, you have to find out who you are, and be that.
You have to decide what comes first in your life, and do that.
You have to discover your strengths, and use them.
You have to learn not to compete with others,
Because no one else is in the contest of 'Being You'.

Then you will have learned to accept your own uniqueness.
You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions.
You will have learned to live with your limitations.
You will have learned to give yourself the respect that is due.

Dare To Believe that you are a wonderful, unique person.
That you are a once-in-all-history event.
That it's more than a right, it's your duty, to be who you are.
That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish.

It's an amaaaaaaaazing post, dear Sam!!!! I simply loved it and saw myself "in it" - I mean, I'm this way: in order to make decisions, you know what I mean, really important decisions that will impact my "whole" life (well, yes, what could be, what won't be) I need to be constantly reminded I HAVE TO make the important decisions, that I NEED to make them. So lately I've been reading a lot about this and your post reminded me about it again - THANK YOU!
It's true. Many people have all they need, not all they want - but do we need so many things to live and be happy? Most of the times, the answer is no. We just want things, many times to compete with others.
Are we in this ife to compete with someone else? "She has that dress, I need it too!" No, definitely not.
Can we please everybody? No.
Bt we can please ourselves.
I hope everybody does so.
We are all definitely unique and life is a present. We should start counting our blessings, instead of complaining.
Then I'll leave with the saying: "The one who is not grateful (to anything, or to a person) forgets that 999 meals were given to him/her, but remembers that one was missing".
Thank you again for this amazing post, my dear friend!
